Gautam says about the surname atri
I am not an a Kashmiri and my knowledge of Kashmiri cultrue is very limited. I only read about Kashmir through the Mahabaharatha and ofcourse the modern media where Kashmir is in the news all the time.
But I am just giving what little knowledge I have about the name Attri.Attri is commonly mentioned in the Rig Veda. In fact one whole book or Mandala(the sixth) of hymns or Suktas are attributed to the Rishis from the house of Attris.
