Arun Kumar Gurtu says about the surname Gurtu A search on Google showed that as per unesco, 'Gurtu'is a widely spoken language in BHUTAN.Does it mean Gurtu;s migrated to Bhutan or that gurtu;s in kashmir have come from bhutan at some point of time.

M. U. Butt says about the surname Bhat Kahmiri butt are people indegnous to kashmir, they have nothing to do with the people with surname bhatt anywhere in india. the person mazhar butt is fake butt, he is acutally an uneducated chammar who does not know even a single word about the history of kashmir or kashmiri people. The surname butt became very poplular in anceint kashmir and there were times when the whole kashmiri pundit community was referred to as butt/bat in the predominantly muslim kashmiri villages in the kashmir valley. From old times numerous kashmiri pundits and muslims(converted) have kept butt as their surname. Butt is not merely a small clan name but at times it has been associated with bulk population of kashmiri pundits as Butt(priest) tribe in kashmir.

Rudresh Kaul says about the surname Katju there is only a single famous kathju clan.it may be Bikaner's deewan.M.P.state c.m. or any other person they are purana kashmiri family.

Rudresh Kaul says about the surname Dattatreya U can use your gotra as your surname.but it is not easy to pronounce it. And wrong pro noun ciation is not good.

D Paul says about the surname Pandit Pandit surname can be found mainly among Kashmirirs and Bengalees. However whether the Kashmiri 'Pandit's settled in Bengal or the Bengalee 'pandit's in Kashmir that is not sure. However the first case is correct I think.
