Muthaiwalla... is his trade.. at that time. They looked exceptionally too fair looking with brown hair and tall figures too. Blue eyes too. Speaks fine hindi. Dipen Dass says Dass surname belongs to two dynasties one from Bomai and one from Srinagar. The Dass` from whom I belong has just few families.... The Dass was actually a Title conferred to my great great grandfather by Diwan Badrinath,

RK Dass says Dass surname is 100% a sub caste of kashmiri pandits. They are inhabitants of Bomi, Spore. If one can see the revenue records of Dass surname, it can be found that they are orginally from pandits surname. It might have happened a nick name of dass might have got attached to some pandit surnames as usual practice in kashmir
