K.tufchi says our fore fathers were serving in the tank regement of then maharaza of kashmir sh. gulab singh.the tank regment is known as toph regment & the person incharge of this regment was /is known as topchi. this is how the surname developed itself. other wise all topchi belonged to koul too.

ARUNA TUFCHI says I BELONG TO "TUFCHI" FAMILY. IT IS BASICALLY HINDU KASHMIRI (BRAHMAN) COMMUNITY.IT IS A UNIQUE SURNAME. THERE MUST BE A FACT BEHIND THIS SURNAME .BUT I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT.HAVE YOU ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THAT THEN LZ DO HELP ME..... REGARDS.. ARUNA TUFCHI. JAMMU.
