Sanjay ji while looking into the kauls.net I found partazi as asurname queer. The surname partazi is not common as rightly said by you it is a decedance of kauls only.May you please for my knowledge let me know where they were localised in valley & also oblige me with the family tree of at least 3 to 4/5 generations.

Our Great Grandfather was Revenue officer posted at Anantnag Area in Dogra Regime & was incharge of measurement of land ,In Urdu the meaning of word measurement is PARTAL.With the pessage of time this word partal was pronounced as partali which became partazi with time. Actually our Gotra is Datatri & surname is Kaul.
