My grand dad moved from part of india to Malaysia in the year 1920s...
Muthaiwalla... is his trade.. at that time.
They looked exceptionally too fair looking with brown hair and tall figures too.
Blue eyes too.
Speaks fine hindi.
I am told.. either they are kashimiri pundits or sindhis .
Had a few children from india itself.
I want to find my roots.
Can anyone help me ?

Dass surname belongs to two dynasties one from Bomai and one from Srinagar.
The Dass` from whom I belong has just few families.... The Dass was actually a Title conferred to my great great grandfather by Diwan Badrinath,

Dass surname is 100% a sub caste of kashmiri pandits. They are inhabitants of Bomi, Spore. If one can see the revenue records of Dass surname, it can be found that they are orginally from pandits surname. It might have happened a nick name of dass might have got attached to some pandit surnames as usual practice in kashmir
