S.K.Gagroo says The original surname of Gagroos is supposed to have been Tupish. At some point in their history, one of the ancestors is supposed to have had a small skull, which earned him the nickname-gagur, meaning rat. As has happened with most such surnames, that name stuck. Subsequent generations were called & chose to call themselves Gagroo.
